San Diego to La Paz
November 2007
In November 2007 we traveled from San Diego down the coast to Mexico.  We stopped in Ensenada for fuel only, in
Turtle Bay for fuel and an overnight rest, and in Mag Bay to visit with friends and stay about a week.  We sailed all the way
from Mag Bay nearly to Cabo, then motored around Lands End and by-passed Cabo San Lucas completely.  We arrived in
La Paz on November 20, enjoyed Thanksgiving Dinner with 250 people (cruisers and landlubbers) from the US that are
here in La Paz, and renewed old friendships.  We also signed up for a Spanish language class, 2 hours a day for one week.

A little visitor on board during our
passage from San Diego to Ensenada.
Our friends Jose and Christina
and their son Francisco in
Puerto Magdalena (Mag Bay).
Lupita (age 13) from Puerto
Magdalena came out to visit
one day on Catch The Wind.
Dogs on the roof of the
tortilla factory in San
Carlos (across the bay
from Puerto Magdalena).
We see dogs on roofs
very often in Mexico.
Pete and Marni from 2 Pieces of 8
with "Quila" (pronounced like
tequila without the te) the little
5-year old dog they rescued at the
bus station in La Paz.  While things
are better than in the past for dogs
in Mexico, there are still some that
are left to die.  This smart little girl
has already been trained to use her
mat of astro turf on passages and
has a good healthy life ahead of her
now as a cruising dog.  What a cutie!
