Arizona and Calif
In Oct, Susie and Sam spent some time in Arizona while Susie recovered from knee replacement surgery. Then Sam flew back to California and, with two wonderful crew, brought the boat from San Diego to San Francisco Bay. He flew back to Arizona, spent one week there getting ready to leave, then Susie and Sam drove back to California and HOME on the boat, which is presently berthed at Richmond Yacht Club, our home port.

A little bird spent a few days hitching on the boat
between San Diego and San Francisco. He actually
came inside the boat, slept on Susie's shoes in the
V-berth and in Sam's clothes hammock. He would sit
on Sam's leg, but fly away if Sam tried to catch him. He
left a few souvenirs to be cleaned up.
Susie and Sam rode the tram in Palm
Springs up to San Jacinto. What a view!
This fruit is called Buddhas Hand. It was
the predecessor of the modern day lemon,
from China. We saw this at Citrus State
Park in Riverside, California. It is used
primarily for cooking and seasoning.
Susie, Sam and Bridget Wilson (of Sailsoon)
under a big tree near Pine Mountain Club in
California. We visited John and Bridget at
their beautiful mountain home (we met them
cruising in Mexico several years ago).
